Kate Swaffer
Kate Swaffer has a MSc in Dementia Care, a BPsych, BA, Grad Dip Grief Counseling, and is also a retired chef and retired nurse; she is a PhD student, Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health, University of Wollongong; an Honorary Associate Fellow with the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health, University of Wollongong, and an International Fellow at Canterbury Christ Church University. Kate is also an author, activist, humanitarian and International Speaker, and is living beyond a diagnosis of dementia. She is Chair, CEO & Co-founder, Dementia Alliance International, a Member of the World Dementia Council, a Board member of Alzheimer’s Disease International and inaugural Chair of Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Advisory Committee. Kate’s book What the hell happened to my Brain?: Living beyond dementia was released on 21 January 2016.
