Keeping a brave face on things

Friends for Life Zoom meeting

It's been a very difficult period for "Friends for Life (Nottingham)" as we now have 3 members in Care Homes, all with little advanced indication. The tragedy that Covid-19 has had amongst us; is the lack of opportunity to show love and compassion for partners and family. Ringing with support, seems so little in this situation. Keeping a brave face on things is difficult, but I am so pleased with the tremendous support and distraction given by Trent Dementia (Nottingham); namely Jane and Ghazal in providing lots of craft and humour in our regular zoom meetings. This has kept unity within the group, to enable us to look forward to better times.

Our weekly meeting on Thursday's 10:30 went well and now includes a couple from Essex and now Leicester. Cynthia showed off her video skills and let everyone know what hot weather looked like with no rain in 8 weeks around Cyprus.

Then we had a few games, We had a tray of 14 items, the idea is to remember them; Janette/Karl are unbelievable at this game guessing all 14. Several were happy to show off their craft making skills from Wednesdays, which lead to talking about future craft projects. The mood was uplifting, just what was needed.
